Over £40k to Edinburgh Organisations from CashBack for Communities

Creative projects in Edinburgh will benefit from over £40,000 as part of the Scottish Government’s aim to tackle inequalities experienced by Scotland’s young people, in the Year of Young People 2018. Six arts projects throughout Edinburgh will receive funding as part of the CashBack for Creativity Open Fund, which has awarded a total of £252,000 to 32 projects across the country. Edinburgh Set to Join Gigabit Full Fibre Premier League

Edinburgh is next in line, alongside Stirling, to be transformed as part of CityFibre and Vodafone’s partnership to roll-out ultra-fast, Gigabit-capable full fibre broadband across the UK. Tories Must Not Betray Edinburgh's EU Workers

SNP MSP Gordon MacDonald has called on the UK Government to protect Edinburgh's skilled EU workers following the UK's departure from the European Union. When questioned by the SNP MSP at Holyrood's Economy Committee, UK Business Secretary Greg Clark claimed that Brexit would not prevent talented people from coming to the UK, however the latest Office for National Statistics data shows that the number of EU citizens coming to the UK for work-related reasons has fallen over the last year. Scotland Hits 95% Fibre Broadband Target

Gordon Macdonald, has hailed the news that the SNP Government has already exceeded its Programme for Government pledge to deliver fibre broadband to more than 95% of premises in Scotland as a “landmark achievement.” The Digital Scotland Superfast Broadband (DSSB) programme is being delivered through two projects – the first covering the Highlands and Islands and the second covering the rest of Scotland.
